Where firefighters come to talk training

I didn't, but should have... Especially when a Brother from Australia ran the 3.1 mile course in a kangaroo outfit, with a stuffed Joey in his pouch (that took a real man) - but I chickened out and ran in plain running gear. It was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day for the 5k, and the scenery was just as inspiring. I didn't break any land speed records, but I finished ahead of the kangaroo! Hey, small victories...

Another event here in Indy that, for some, is just as important as the classes and networking - it's the night life. Trust me, the quick sketch above is very tame. Figure I shouldn't incriminate those who explore Indy's many entertainment spots, too much. By the way, this actually happened at the table next to me:) Sorry guys...

It is easy to become overwhelmed by the collection of vendors at the convention. If it can be created for emergency services, someone is here trying to sell it to you. Brothers and Sisters can occasionally be spotted with their eyes spinning from the choices and variety of products and services. We are like kids in a candy store, wanting everything we see, whether we can use it or not.

Lastly, I'd hate myself if I let a weeks worth of posts go by without stating my opinion at least once (you're surprised, I know). But it seems to me that some of the novelty vendors here JUST DON'T GET IT! Most are respectful, but there are a few that should be ashamed (as with some of the guys buying this crap). Demeaning t-shirts and stickers towards our Sisters is just the tip of the ice-burg for these folks as they exploit everything from L.O.D.D.s to gender. There were much harsher drawings in my sketchbook, and believe me, they'll be published - but for now this will have to do. Well, that depends on how pissed I get walking the floor today!
