Where firefighters come to talk training

No explanation is needed for this month's editorial illustration, and I'm sure we've all had to deal with bad attitudes before. The question I'd like to pose to the forum is; what have you done (or would do) to deal with this type of firefighter? Because if left unchecked, they will literally swallow-up the morale and spirit of the firehouse.

Unfortunately, some of the "snakes" are Chiefs of their Departments...

My Department's leadership is pretty strong, Dan - yet we have our occasional "trouble-makers", too. However, most situations are solved not by a trip to the Chief's office, but by piers who speak their minds to set the firefighter back on course. Positive pier pressure can be a powerful tool, if applied correctly. Everyone gets disgruntled from time to time, but when your bad attitude becomes habitual and begins to effect others - it's time to intervene, before it becomes infectious!

I think we all have these people and would like to hear from others how they deal with them.
