On that dreadful day 911, I just happen to be at the state fire college taking my Instructor certification. The date that appears on it is September 11, 2001, and every three year’s it has to be renewed the date stay the same, just the year changes. In October 2001, went to work for Hillsborough Community College as the Fire Science Degree Administrator. Responsible for the development, marketing and scheduling of fire science courses. I expand its program considerably. Beginning in 2001 with 186 students per year HCC now enrolls more than 700 students in its fire science courses annually. Of the 22 community colleges in the state of Florida,
Hillsborough Community College has the greatest number of students enrolled in the A.S. Fire Science degree program, with 194 students currently seeking the degree, during the 2004 academic year.
