Started as a Firefighter with South Schenectady Rotterdam Fire District #6, NY from 2003 to 2006. Moved to Carman Rotterdam Fire District #3, NY and served as a Firefighter from 2006 to 2008. Was a Firefighter/Senior Airman with Stratton Air National Guard Base located in Glenville, NY from 2003 to 2009. Did a short time of service in Maryland as a Firefighter with Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Volunteered at Solomons VRSFD, MD. Served in the military at Warfield Air National Guard, MD. Currently, I'm Lieutenant with Shaker Road-Loudonville FD in Colonie, NY. Paid Firefighter/EMT at Latham FD also in Colnie, NY. Part-time EMT with GAVAC in Amsterdam, NY. Also a member of the Capital Region FOOLS chapter near Albany, NY.

CO Turn Cyanide Turn False?

 

On Tuesday, March 8th, 2011, my fire department was toned out for a CO without illness call in our district at 0724 hrs. 

 

Chief gets on scene and establishes command.  I was on the first-due engine with a driver, a firefighter and me as officer.  I advised the firefighter to turn on the multi-gas meter while responding non-emergency. 

 

As I call arriving, my chief advised me to check with the homeowner and investigate.  I took the gas meter…
