Bio:: I started my career on April 1st, 1974 and retired as a captain on June 6th, 2010 with over 36 years of service to the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department. Prior to that I was a volunteer in Fairfax County starting in 1969. I helped author all of the firefighting operational manuals used by the Northern Virginia Fire Departments that include six counties, several cities, all military bases, Dulles International, and Regan National Airport Authorities. Several of these manuals I was the primary author. I served on the IFSTA, Technical writing committee on “Strategy and Tactics”,1st edition.
