Company Officer Development

I am creating a Company Officer Development Program for our department. I am collecting data from other departments about their Officer Development Programs. I am looking for input on areas like Formal Education, Practical Education, Mentorships, Candidate Evaluations. I would appreceiate all input. Please feel free to email me your ideas and information. Thank you, be safe. jortlund113@comcast.net

Unfortunately we do not have such a program. Until recently most promotions were made to guys that had a good amount of time on the job and we havent had many problems. In 2005 we had almost half of our fire bureau retire due to drastic changes in retirement benifits. So recently there has been talk of Officer training. Mainly all that is offered is some risk management stuff. Sorry I couldnt help, my only suggestion would be to tap into the guys "with experience" before their gone. Good Luck
