Years of public service:

Combination fire department
Top issues in your department:
Our fire district supplies fire training for two other fire departments. Combined we have 50 volunteers and three paid staff. We have no training physicality or training props. We train once a week combining both class room and outside drills. We go to the local school to have hands on and multiple company drills. All three departments have been around since the 50's but until two years ago there was not structured training. Our fire district hired me and given the task of developing a training program and training the three fire departments. We started out with FFI and are moving on to driver/pump operator and then to officer training. During all of structural fire training we also have a need to train in wild land fires fighting. Our district alone cover approx. 50 square and out of that only about 20% is urban. There is a lot to do.
