Profile Information

Lives in:
Apartment
Department:
Student
Title/rank:
FF/emt
Years of public service:
12
Agency structure:
Paid fire department
Top issues in your department:
Have been a fed Wildland Firefighter, Municipal paid on call, Municipal Volunteer, and a Paid Private Ambulance EMTB. Training, quals, and expanding scopes of response to better provide for our customer ( the tax payers). Permanent Federal Wildland firefighters are often sent out to do projects during the winter, and equipment and apparatus that the tax payers are paying for is left to sit. Many seasonal federal employees already have structure quals. Many people that are permanent employees want to get the quals. In many areas, the need for year round augmentation or assistance to local often volunteer agencies is needed, and often desired. Why not use them
Professional Qualifications:
Lots, mostly NWCG, EMTB SWRT1, ICT5, ENOP, ENGBt, CRWBt, DOZBt etc... HAZMAT FRO, currently (finally after 3 attempts via volunteer FF1 programs that I was unable to complete cause of fire seasons begining) attending TrainingDivision.com to get Texas F.F. I and II.
Topics you provide training for:
Wildland FF1
Areas of expertise:
Mostly Wildland fire, and have studied much about Truck Company Ops. (what can I say, Truck Company is where my heart is)
Bio:
12 years as a firefighter... ( Wildland FF's are Firefighters too! Congress give them their own job class!!)
