PhD in Aerospace Engineering; Adjunct Prof of Thermodynamics and Fluid Mechanics; Author of numerous technical papers (including in Fire Engineering, Journal of Applied Fire Science, Size Up).
Active firefighter for 5 VFDs.
Have been consultant fo Nassau County Fire Service Academy and to NYS Fire Chiefs Association. Chaired forum on fire turnout gear safety for Firehouse Magazine
Topics you provide training for:
Did extensive study for NCFSA to evaluate the thermal environment produced in structural training fires (that use pans of hydrocarbon liquids) and the effects on turnout gear and firefighter safety. Studied improvements and alternate methods. Ran NIST computer codes to compare results.

Worked with NYS fir chiefs to study what areas of fire safety require most study and how to obtain funding for them.

Simulation of fire dynamics.

Impovement to fire gear and equipment.

Thermodynamics, heat transfer, combustion, fluid mechanics.

Firefighter for 25 yrs (mainly engine companies).

Bio:
PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Virginia Tech.
BS and MS in ME from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn
R&D in aerospace propulsion (e.g. hypersonic ramjets), energy (e.g solar, geothermal heat pumps), and fire science. Adjunct Prof at Cooper Union, SUNY Stony Brook, Polytech, Dowling College.

Former member of Albertson, Huntington, Syosset, and Jericho VFDs on Long Island and South Windsor CT VFD.
