Loss of manpower due to budget cuts over the last 20 years. Loss of 2 engine companies, 1 ladder company, reduction in dispatch office, FD operated EMS transport. Loss of minimum shift manning. No continuous professional development. Due to manpower losses there has been no hiring. The average age of our remaining 80 members is 47.23 years old.
Professional Qualifications:
A**. Degree in Fire Science. 20 + years of fire equipment sales and training for private companies. Haz tech, trench rescue tech, many fire academy classes and continuing education. Working towards bachelors in Fire Science.
Topics you provide training for:
In house department training all company officers work to provide the training on engine company ops, ladder company ops. scba, extrication, high rise operations, in line pumping, drafting ops, foam, tactics and strategy, TIC, etc. Training is conducted on all four shifts approximately every other week, and in service inspections on the off weeks.
