I used two types of screws for this project:
- 1" wood screws
- 2" self drilling screws
There is no specific reason for using two types, only that the self drilling were laying around and why not.... but in a real burning structure, different types of material will be present; metal is one of them, and we know that metal will hold, and transfer heat better that wood..... 1 or 2 stainless steel screws close to the ignition point might help to re-ignite the gases released during the incomplete combustion. This is a theory of mine still to investigate.
