Basics on Vehicle Extrication and Patient Management

Vehicle extrication session sponsored by the Fort Buchanan Fire and Emergency Service. During this session the members from the FBFD, Bayamon Office of Emergency Management Fire Rescue, Cataño Fire Rescue and Guaynabo Office of Emergency Management Fire Rescue reviewed the basics on vehicle extrication and patient handling. The session included: scene safety, vehicle stabilization and hazards mitigation, vehicle positioning, initial action plan, PPE, tool handling, glass management, patient care and packaging.
In addition, during the action plan process the group had an opportunity to convene as a team to develop such plan.
The technique used for initial extrication; third door conversion.
