Where firefighters come to talk training

Ladder Sill / Victim Rescue

During this training session the Fort Buchanan Fire Department reviewed the basics on ground ladder safety; the goal was to demonstrate how to rescue a conscious and unconscious victim using three fire service techniques. In addition, each member demonstrated how to properly carry tools up the ladder, alternate leg lock, victim control, and how to carry a "down" fire fighter to safety.
Each skill meets the performance requirement of NFPA 1001, Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications, Chapter 3.
