It sounds like you guys have a good fire ground response thing going up there. Good luck with it. Do you get up to Monroe fire school? My buddy and I are going to up there in the Aug conference.

I think as a training officer should take a combination of how to teach and tactics classes that would bring up ideas on what to teach. Not to specifically toot my own horn but just as an example - I'm doing a coordinating fire ops class on Weds afternoon that discusses how companies should work together. The foucs is primrialy on communcations, coordination and size up of varius postions on the fire ground. We are also going to talk extensively about individual situational awareness and how members on the scene need to think about the task assignement and the bigger picture. As in if we can;t get our task done, how does it impact the entire operation. I think that this is where some fire dept go wrong and guys get hurt.
This , as a training officer , is what I'd be looking for at FDIC. What do you think?
