Rope Equipment Storage

How do all of you store your rope equipment? And where is it kept? Is it all on a rescue or squad company? Is it all in one big box or bag...or do you set it up task oriented? Send in your info...and any photos.....you never know...it may end up in a future article.

All of our gear is set up on the engine. we carry two 300' ropes, one for belay, and one for raise/lower (both pre-rigged). We also have a rope bag with 2-50' rope shorts for anchor extensions and pre-tensioned backties. Another rope bag contains all of our webbing, a mini-haul, a litter bridle, and other software. Our other bag is a hardware bag with extra biners, pulleys, etc. i hope to move all of our extra equipment into SAR packs pretty soon.

We have rope on both the rescue and truck. On the Rescue we have 2 200' bags, a 3:1 Mechanical Advantage pre-rigged in a bag, search rope in a bag, 2 Class III harnesses and hardware in a bag. On the truck we have 2 200' bags, 2 100' bags, 2 rescuer bags (Class II harness, rope gloves, hardware, helmet in each). We also have a MARS 25 in the Technical Rescue Trailer with a tripod. The equipment is stored in its own compartment, and each bag is labeled for easy ID. All utility rope is coiled and stored in different compartments to avoid confusion.
