My department has a Bullard TIC and we are looking for input related to the use of the transmitter handle. We are no longer using the transmitter feature however their is a small group that would rather use the handle. Can I get some opinions on this topic.
Is there a reason the small group prefers the handle? Is it a comfort thing?
If you are not using the transmitter anymore and the handle attaches easily than why not let the crews that want it, use it? And visa versa. If it gets it off the rig more often and in use, then how can it be a bad thing?
Just had an extremely good training exercise in the house, impromptu, a few notes from FDTN and our TIC. I was frustrated at finding any good drills, not having the time to really re-invent the wheel. But I should have looked here first. This site always has so much to offer, I should have known better.
HELP!!! I am teaching a class over TIC uses and limitations and was wondering if anyone has a Powerpoint class already made that I might be able to use...
My department has a bullard TIC also but again I brothers ask me can we use it for inside attack fire are there any books or video's out there for a drill night for a company we have looked also into any classes that teach an 8 hour hands on class we could use it in my coutny. Let me know how your make out Brian I too will check for on line resources
thanks
Jeff,
I have left a few emails with the Bullard Training guys with no return emails yet.. My Volunteer department just purchased an Eclipse TIC from Bullard. TICs are a great for interior attacks and searches. The small Eclipse is designed to be used by the Hose team. I am hoping to get some information for my class... If I come across anything that might help you I will let you know.
