Where firefighters come to talk training

Anyone had any experience with designing or building their own training ground. We are in the process of building one on our second fire hall site that has yet to be built. Not a whole lot of room at our present location, so the plan is to try and put in a training ground first. We plan on doing car fires, ventilation techniques, gas props, auto extrication, etc. but not a burn building. Any ideas or pictures of some sites would be most appreciated.

Tom,

If you are still looking for ideas check out our website (www.kvfd.net) it has some pictures of our training grounds. I would be willing to help if you are still interested. Drop me a line if you want.
One of the biggest things is try to plan out for 10 years down the road. When they started ours in 1994 it wasn't much but we have had to obtain more land and are constantly trying to improve it.
Good luck,
Walt
