Where firefighters come to talk training

Here is a quiz! Look up UN 1002 in the ERG. I would like to know the hazards and a example of what the product is. You may find this interesting!

As far as hazards go, there aren't that many other than the pressure from being stored. As an example of the material, I suggest everyone go look at their SCBA.
UN 1002 - compressed air.
Gee, isn't that contained in the cylinder we wear on our backs in the form of SCBA or SCUBA? Does that mean we need to have the placard plastered on the butts of our bunker gear or diving suits?. Or are we exempt? What about the compressed air brake reservoirs on the engines?

Let's face it, compressed air is out there in many forms and it opens an interesting can of worms, but for some reason I see absurdity on the horizon in the form of bizzare regulations dreamed up by somebody with time on their hands.
Don

It is the air which is in our SCBA! If you look at your bottle you do have the UN # on it. If you read below what I told Brent I thought it was funny that the ERG says for resp. protection we should use an SCBA. It is grade"D" air i know for sure. goodstuff thanksDON
