thanks, i actually just emailed the guy prior to reading your response, does this class help you fill out the book as you go or what? can you fill me in a little on what the class is about?

You can go online to www.openfireacademy.org and take their FO1 class. Its done totally online, through the Haywood Community College. I am in it right now. It's free to NC residents, $60 for everyone else. The next class starts in May I believe.

I heard that they were going to change the Fire Officer program this spring. Do you know if there is any truth to this? I was told that if you had an associates in Fire Science you can get FO 1, 4 year=FO 2 and I can't remember what they said about 3 & 4. Anyone else heard this?

i took a weekend class with a rep from osfm, and he did say they were looking at starting a fire officer class, and they had done a few pilot classes for one, two and soon to be three and they are going to install a fire officer four soon, but he didnt say anything about revamping the whole program so dont know about that one
