NIOSH Public Meeting for the NIOSH Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Program.

NIOSH will be holding a Public Meeting on November 19, 2008 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Chicago to receive stakeholder comments on the effectiveness of the NIOSH Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Program. The meeting is open to the public. Details of the meeting can be found in the Federal Register Notice announcement http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2008/pdf/E8-24732.pdf and in the attached file.

This meeting is being held in-part to address the findings of last year's IAFC Task Force Review of the NIOSH FFFIPP. For those unable to attend the meeting, NIOSH has established a docket and written comments on the usefulness of the FFFIPP and its products for improving fire fighter safety and health, suggestions for enhancing the impact of the program, and comments on the draft FFFIPP strategic and programmatic goals may be submitted to the NIOSH Docket Office:

Comments can also be submitted via email to niocindocket@cdc.gov. All electronic comments should be forwarded as Microsoft Word documents. Comments should be submitted to NIOSH no later than December 19, 2008 and should reference the NIOSH Docket Number 063-A in the subject heading.
