I am just finishing up reading the Air Management for the Fire Service book written by the Seattle Guys. This is an excellent book and is going to help me work on writing our SOP on air management. Right now what we do during our SCBA training is after a firefighter gets to a predetermined point they have to look at their gauge, surroundings, and report to the company officer how much air they have, we also have them check their gauge when the light on the HUD changes to make sure everything is operating properly. This is the building blocks we are using to get our firefighters to utilize air management right now. I hope this helps.
