the old books

want to do some great drills that are outside the box
get your hands on the old IFSTA salvage and ground ladder books
great drills on special uses for ladders and things such as sump basins, de-watering devices made from stuff on the rig (the venturi siphon is my fave)
these things increase your skill profile and give some alternative tactics when faced with the odd situaation
what you don't read you will never know about
what you don't try, you will never know how to do
stay safe
