Where firefighters come to talk training

policy assistance needed

My Chief ordered all of us to remove lights and decals from our helmets. At first, we were told to remove them until they could verify compliance with the manufacturers. We have received verification from both helmet companies and forwarded them up the chain of command. It's been over a month and still no word. I'm looking for advice as to how or what to do now. I was thinking about requesting a policy to utilize NFPA compliant non issued items. Any help would be great. Thanks
