Where firefighters come to talk training

I am hoping that I might gain some new information from the members on here about the new Organic Peroxide placard that has come out. The red and yellow one that is on the front cover of the 2008 ERG. I know some of the basics about it, but I am hoping someone will give me the whole story about this placard.  Is it only for "Temperature Controlled" Organic Peroxides?

Tom-  It  looks  to me as  it has HC of 5.2. (Organic peroxides) .One thing the  table  of placards should  only  be  used as a  last resort.  If  you see an  OP  placard  your  will  have to gather additional  to match your product with the  DOT Identification Chart (again use as a last resort).Go with  worse case scenario  and move  forward with  fact finding. If you  look on  page 140  of the  ERG , OP  is a temp.  controlled substance.  This is  where finding  additional information is a  must  before  making  entry  and  making  safe  defensive decisions is a must.   We can  get in to  all  different sorts  of chemistry with this!    I hope this  helps  if  it doesn't let me know and I will send you  more info.  Don't let  anyone  change your mind with  out  FACTS and  be SAFE!
