Fire Engineering Training Community

Where firefighters come to talk training

I do not mean accountability wise; I mean equipment wise long term, weather extremes. Is it intuitive? Has your company have any problems with it? Like the scanner can’t read when the bar code is wet or cold, the display/menu is poor.... We have tried them all and now my company wants to use this system, and yes I am skeptical.
I need to look more into the software/hardware on this system; it was just dumped on my lap. So I wanted to get some feedback as I look into this system.

Thanks
Dennis

We have used the Salamander accountability system for almost 10 years.  The only problem we had was reading cards in the bright sunlight.  The new 3-d barcode should take care of that.
