Where firefighters come to talk training

I don't know if this has been discussed before but I would like to get some information on this. Our Department has responded to a couple of car accidents that have involved vehicles that have one large wire connected to the battery which contains both the negative and positive. We have not had any problems as of yet, but I would like to know if anyone else has come across this and if there are any hazards and how to deal with them. Thank you.
