Where firefighters come to talk training

Fire hose volumes

Hey everyone Ive looked for a while but does anyone know where I can find the volumes that different size hoses put out. For example a 1 1/2 flows approx 96 gpm.....so when people are running an automatic nozzle rated at 250gpm they cant attain the volume some may think they're getting.Might be a question that has been answered before....but I just cant find it.

Scott,

You've got some good responses here. I'd contact the hose manufacturer and find out what information they have regarding hose volumes and friction losses. Different hose manufacturers have different volumes/friction losses for the same size hose. Ponn Conquest is a good example of this. Good luck bro.
