Where firefighters come to talk training

Beverly Hills Revisited - Symposium May 15, 2010

For All: On May 15, 2010 at the Chase Law School, Northern Kentucky University, Highland Heights, KY, there was an all day symposium called "Beverly Hills Discussion". Numerous firefighters, arson investigators (Glenn Corbett, a 911 investigator who testified to Congress), hazmat trainer(s), and former employees of Beverly Hills Supper Club, including Dave Brock and Walter Bailey (local hero busboy who grabbed the microphone in the Cabaret Room and announced the fire and exits) were in attendance. The public was invited. They examined recent color slides that have surfaced, which were taken from the 2 weeks following the fire, of the Zebra Room, basement and other areas, all in color. Examination of burn patterns, theories and current events were discussed. There has been mention of doing this once a year, but is unlikely. Only as new evidence resurfaces.

I have looked and looked to see if there was any follow up to this post, such as a post-symposium narrative and been unable to find it on the web. Am I looking in the wrong places or has nothing been published? Did the event actually take place? I lost a very good friend from college in the Beverly Hills Supper Club fire, and wish to learn what there is to learn.

Jon, Yes, the event took place at Chase Law School LIbrary, on May 15th, 2010. Although the turnout could have been a little better, the media was there throughout. The best article that was published was in the Sunday Kentucky Enquirer, May 16th, if you can find a copy of this. It was 2 or 3 long colums. I think everybody was disappointed the media didn't quote more of the recently uncovered facts.
