Not being new to the process, but someone who is frustrated with Board of Fire Commissioners, i wanted to see if others deal with being given a budget to use and then have to deal with the attitude don't spend it.
As i said i am not new to the process , I dealt with it when I was a Asst. Chief who was incharge of Equipment. What upsets me the most is we know what we need to do. Last year i ended the year with $9500.00 left out of a $52000.00 equipment Budget, I spent my training Budget [ $6000.00] , Uniforms[ i spent $3500.00 out $4200.00] Radios [ I spent $6000.00 out of $8000.00]. Truck Maint Repair[ $43000.00 I spent $39000.00] This year they uped my equipment to $60000.00 , to date i have $19000.00.
What gets me , is that the Board has basically told me to slow my spending, thats because they have spent down their House and other accounts, The teasurer of the board made it clear to them that they were spending way to fast out of their accounts, as to where the Chief is being Fiacally sound.
Does anyone else have this issue.
