Where firefighters come to talk training

What Would You Have Done?

This video has been around awhile, but, it is worth watching. (See at http://firefightersenemy.com/2010/01/what-would-you-have-done/ )

It is a little long, but worth the time. If you can, make your whole crew and all of your officers watch this. It really is something that will make you stop and think.

I know the first time I saw this I couldn’t figure out what they were doing and why they were taking their sweet time.

They were smart and hopefully you will be too. This is a great learning tool and please watch the whole video.

I've seen this before, but videos like this one never get old. As officers, we preach never to rush in until we are completely, or as completely as it gets in this business, sure of our situation. Officers, always do a quick lap and firefighters keep your eyes open and never hesitate to COMMUNICATE! Great video Jason, this will be on my crew training next rotation.

i would have to agree, not being an officer. i am assuming that my officer would do a hot lap and communicate that the fire was in the basement. then it's up to us the firefighters to pull the right lenght of hose to hit the fire in the basement form an outside window. this is my first time seeing the video and it's a great example of why we train for every situation.
