Fire Engineering Training Community

Where firefighters come to talk training

Brothers,

For our November meeting, we’ll be back at the official home of the Middle-TN FOOLS: Mulligan’s on 2nd Avenue in Nashville (http://www.mulliganspubandrestaurant.com/main.htm). The meeting is next Tuesday, November 18th at 6:30 p.m.

Those of you who were at October’s meeting in Spring Hill will remember (well, will probably remember…) that we adopted revised Articles of Association, in order to keep us in line with FOOLS International. Since some of our executive board positions have been vacant for a while, we’ll start with a clean slate and open up all of the board positions to nominations. After that, elections for the office of President, 1st Trustee (Membership) and 3rd Trustee (Internet) will be held in December of every odd number year. The office of Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, 2nd Trustee (Merchandise) and 4th Trustee (Education) will be held in December of every even numbered year. We’d like to get as much geographic diversity in the board as possible (i.e. representation from all of the different counties we serve), so all members are encouraged to step up and participate.

Nominations are open right now on the Middle-TN FOOLS website (http://www.midtennfools.com) and will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. on the 18th. If you cannot make the November meeting, you may also submit your vote through the website, any time between now and 4:00 p.m. on the 18th. The election will take place at Mulligan’s at 7:00 p.m. during our regular meeting.

In other news, pictures from last week’s roof ventilation class in Nashville are up on the website and our challenge coins should be here in early December.

Don’t forget, this Saturday is the Lt. Brad Hutcherson Memorial Fire School (http://ltbhmfs.org/home.html). Twenty bucks is an incredible price for a full day of training. Did I mention the flashover simulator? It’s not too late to sign up. So, bring a brother (FOOL or not!) and get some great training while honoring the memory of one of our own.

`Til then, stay safe!

KTF,

Joe
