Where firefighters come to talk training

What position do your officers hold on a fireground? Pulling ceiling or yard watching? Where should they be? Give me your opinion!

It all depends on who is on scene. We usually run a scene with a chief or asst. chief outside, captains as "sector" officers which could either be inside or outside and our lieutenants as interior officers with crew members. We also belong to the MABAS System so on all structure fires we have at least two departments responding to assist, one to the scene and one to back fill our house. Also on that card the first in mutual aid company comes in with a command officer to assist command in any area needed. Hope this helps answer your question.

Joe,

Thanks for your reply, I’m sure most answers will be remotely close to one another. I’m just trying to see where the majority of volunteer departments are when it comes to fireground operations. Hope all is well brother
