Where firefighters come to talk training

Class Announcemnt: April 2nd, 3rd & 4th - Morris, IL - Basic Forcible Entry Operations

To All:

I am sending along this flier and information regarding our upcoming 8-hour, open enrollment, hands-on Basic Forcible Entry Operations class that will be taking place in Morris, Illinois on April 2nd, 3rd & 4th.

This is a repeat of the class that we conducted last November. The November class was sold-out and feedback was very positive. Photos from that class are at this link: Photos

For the April class, we have added a third day in an effort to members from all three shifts. We have also included a Saturday (April 4th) so that volunteer or part-time members with 5-day/week day jobs have an opportunity to attend.

We expect this class to book pretty fast, so if you are interested, the sooner you get the paperwork, payment and/or PO back to us, the more likely you are to get into the class. We have enough room for 40 firefighters per class, but one department has already booked 10 seats per day and other departments are sending in their PO's & payment now.

If you are coming from a long-distance (we had firefighters from Wisconsin & Michigan in November), we can provide a list of several hotels in the Morris area for accommodations.

This class will be the prerequisite class to the Advanced Forcible Entry operations class that we are currently developing. Some of the highlights of the upcoming advanced class are listed below.

All students will perform:
• Conventional forcible entry on doors guarded with angle-iron
• Conventional forcible entry on doors with multiple locks
• Conventional forcible entry on Police Locks, Fox Locks and/or Multi-Locks (doors locking top, bottom, and both sides)
• Conventional forcible entry in a zero-visibility environment with SCBA

We are shooting for the advanced class either late fall or early 2010.

Hope to see you there! Stay safe!

Respectfully,

Nate DeMarse
