Where firefighters come to talk training

Here's to a New Year's Revolution for 2014!

As we ring in this new year we will be inundated with well wishes and "Happy New Year" for the next few days as we run into friends and family. We will also discuss everyone's resolutions that seemingly are very similar to those of the prior year but weren't quite reached.

This year I say we start and sustain a Revolution in the fire service for 2014!

I say we revolt against mediocrity in our profession!
I say we revolt against complacency in our profession!
I say we revolt against promoting cronies and those undeserving!
I say we revolt against all talk and no action in all forms of leadership!
I say we revolt against resisting facts!
I say we revolt against allowing others to break us down!

The list is yours to finish!

The bottom line is that we can't just talk about what we are going to do, we need to collectively DO IT! Not just a few of us, we ALL need to beat the drum of revolt against those things that are killing our fire service. No single person can sustain the revolution, it has to be a consistent, collective effort.

No more lip service, do the right things, for the right reasons, ALL of the time!

Will you join me in this Revolution!?!? I hope so, I'll see you on the battle lines.

Happy New Year and be the difference!

Jason
