Where firefighters come to talk training

Seat Assignments, Tool Assignments, etc.

What is everyone's thought on these? We currently don't have anything in place formally for tool assignments, I am in support of the concept and just looking for more pro's and con's that I may have overlooked.

Thanks in advance,

Hayden

Some of the cons that I dealt with when implementing them in a volunteer dept were as follows.
1 Uncertain of the number of responders to any given incident.
2. The level of experience varied greatly among responders so some assignments may be hard to fill, or an under experienced member could be assigned a position they cant handle.
3. System is too ridgid does not allow company/ IC to remain fluid at an incident

Thanks for the input so far. I have found a ton of pro's for this but not many if any cons, if anyone knows of why this wouldn't be a good thing let me know, I am just looking for all the info I can so I can convince the rest of the guys I work with.

I am all for riding assigments and tool assignments. I have operated with pre determined assignments in both career and volunteer depts and I feel that with proper training they are a major asset to all operations. Critical functions are caried out in a systematic order with out over burdening the I.C. or company officer, and freelancing is brought to a minimum.
