I am a resident in the city of Atlanta (Georgia). I have heard that the fire department has been accredited for the next 3 years. Since the accreditation the city has shut down a firestation, laid off firefighters, reduced the manned trucks to 4 to a possible 3. They are talking about brown outs with other stations, where one station will be shut down for the day and then another one wil be shut down the next day. My question is this: Can I get their accreditation revoked because of there gross neglect for the safety of its citizens? What do the fire departments gain by being accredited?
