Bio:
My name is Robert J. Faas Jr. and I am a career firefighter/Rescuer III with Montgomery County Fire Rescue, in Montgomery County Maryland. I am a HAZ- MAT technician on the County’s HAZ-MAT team and a member of MD-TF1 Maryland’s Urban Search and Rescue team. I have been with the county for 5 years and have 15 years experience as a volunteer. I was a part of a sit in committee that was responsible for the development and establishment of a RIT program and policy for the state of NH. I was also one of a three person committee that was responsible for the development and implementation of a training program for Montgomery County’s RIT program. I have been involved with the RIT training for the new recruits that are going thru the academy here in Montgomery county and have now been cleared to start doing some teaching with other courses that are taught here in the county both on the fire side as well as the EMS side. Prior to getting hired here in Montgomery County I was a volunteer here for 6 months. Prior to my time here in Maryland I was a volunteer firefighter/ EMT in Rindge, NH for 10 years and prior to that volunteered in NJ for about 1 year. Just recently I was asked to develop a HAZ-MAT RIT program for Montgomery County’s HAZ- MAT team. I am also in the process of developing a RIT training program for Washington County, Maryland. I have taken several well known and organized training programs including those at FDIC as well as at Firehouse Expo that were taught by Jim Crawford, Tim Sendelbach as well as one that was taught by Chief Salka.
