Bio:
Matt Hinkle is the owner and primary instructor of Box Alarm Training. Matt has been in the fire service for ten years and served in many positions including: Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, Training Officer and Instructor. Matt started his fire service career as a volunteer firefighter with the Lafayette County Fire Department and later joined the Oxford Fire Department as a career firefighter. With the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation; Matt serves as the Lead Advocate for Everyone Goes Home in the State of Mississippi. Currently Matt works as a Staff Instructor with the Mississippi State Fire Academy. Matt is a contributor and reviewer for Jones and Bartlett Learning and has developed and contributed with many training programs on the local, state and national level.

Matt has received over 1,000 hours of training in many disciplines including: NFPA 1001-I-II, NFPA 1041 I-II (Instructor), NFPA 1002 (Driver Operator), Hazardous Materials Technician I-II, Rope Rescue Technician I-II, Confined Space Rescue Technician, Trench Rescue Technician, Cave Rescue I-II, SARTECH I-II-III, NR-EMT, Vehicle Extrication I-II, and many more firefighter training courses. Matt’s goal is to help spread knowledge and training to all firefighters. The more information that is shared between firefighters the more productive we will all be. This in turn allows firefighters to serve their communities better and will ultimately help save lives.
