Bio:
I joined the Fire Service as a Reserve in 1983. I have been employed full time since 1988. I have held the ranks of Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain and Battalion Chief. I am a Registered Instructor with the California State Fire Marshals Office and am a Department Training Officer. I don't really like working days but I love the Fire Service, and I am trying to do my part to reduce Line of Duty Deaths.
Enjoyed your recent article in Fire Engineering regarding RIT. One aspect of RIT that is seldom addressed in getting in service. As a F/F in DC I recognized a capability gap in getting in service fast and safely with my RIT. I developed a RIT kart, (TURK) Turnell, Universal, Rescue, Kart. It’s a fast and simple way of deploying the RIT basket. Guys love it because it’s simple. I have not approached the west coast yet because I'm not sure how they deploy their RIT. Take a look at our website and let me know what you think. My contact info is on the website. www.turkrescue.com
