I started as a volunteer firefighter in Virginia and volunteered for 28 years there. Served through all ranks including 2 years as Fire Chief. Worked 19 years for Prince William County Fire and Rescue where I left as a Captain, but often served as the acting Battalion Chief. Also spent one year in the communications center and one year in that department. Worked as a part time Adjunct Instructor with the Virginia Department of Fire Programs for at least 10 years. After leaving Prince WIlliam I worked for the Federal Fire Department as a Captain on Vint Hill Farms Station until it closed in 1999. Worked for a while as a Hazardous Materials Specialist on a Haz Mat Team. Relocated to Florida in 2000 and sold Fire Equipment until 2005. After moving to Florida I also joined the Land O'Lakes VFD where I served as a District Chief until December 2002 when I went to work for the City of Brooksville. I am currently a District Chief with the Department and also serve as Training Officer and Haz Mat Staff Officer on our Division of the Hernando County Haz Mat Team.
