Bio:
After beginning his fire service career with the infamous Newell VFD, Shawn joined the CFD in 1995. After spending 7 years on Ladder Co. 13 / Haz-Mat Co 2, he was promoted to Captain and "roved" the city as a relief officer for 2 years before being reassigned to the Training Division. The 2 year tenure in Training included departmental training and recruit training. He was next assigned to Engine Co. 12 before finally settling back "at home" on a truck company in Ladder Co. 23. During his career, Shawn has earned an Associates Degree in Fire Protection and a Bachelors Degree in Fire Engineering. He instructs in numerous topics including Forcible Entry, Truck Ops, Live Burn and Flashover. He authored the book "Firefighting in Charlotte" and is a member of the F.O.O.L.S.
