Bio:
Ben Peetz, CSP, CFPS, has been nationally-recognized for his efforts in non-residential fire prevention, protection and suppression. His roots are that of a second-generation fire service veteran with the Napoleon (IN) Volunteer Fire Department, where he has served nearly 20 years. Peetz is an IFSAC fire instructor II/III, and he has taught classes multiple years at the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a contributing author to Fire Engineering magazine, as well as other manufacturing and industrial publications.

Peetz works full-time as a fire protection consultant for a commercial property insurance carrier, specializing in forest products and other manufacturing. In this role, he travels much of the U.S. providing inspection and technical analysis of commercial and industrial properties for underwriting and fire protection. He has worked extensively across the Midwest and southern states, as well as the Great Plains and into the Black Hills, developing engineering solutions and training programs for the prevention of fire and other losses. Using this unique background, he founded the resource website NotJustAnotherFire.Net.

Peetz has earned professional designation as a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) from the National Fire Protection Association, as well as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. He has also earned degrees in agriculture communications and agrisystems management from Purdue University, where he worked several years for the university’s world-renowned ag safety and health program.
