I joined the NZ Fire Service (a national Fire Service) in 1987 as a volunteer. After a 6 year career in the police, I became a career firefighter and have since worked in 3 districts within the North Island of New Zealand. I'm curently an Assistant Area Commander/Manager in the Wellington Area of New Zealand.
