Where firefighters come to talk training

MORE WITH LESS!

I am not sure if this cartoon is whimsical or prophetic, but it's a fact that we are all doing more with much, much less these days. Better limber up your toes, folks - they're going to be needed!

I mean; they are already familiar with hydrants. They run after fire trucks.

Perhaps that's a way to get the message in front of them? Seems self-serving on my part to suggest this, but if it will help make a difference I'd have no objections.

Comment by John K. Murphy on February 23, 2012 at 3:23pm: Excellent and accurate illustration. We will be seeing poorer outcomes on major medical emergencies, fire and rescues. The politicians are looking at the short term (about the lifespan of their elected time in office) and not the long term to perfect a solution. There may be some culpability on our parts by not actively and aggressively engaging in the political process to formulate solutions for use by the elected officials - its like the tail wagging the dog. Certainly not good for our citizens where potholes and police have the priority.
