Hi Brad, I looked around my profile, I could not find a place to change first and last name. I wonder if it was because I added through google and it used the default? I'll keep searching. Thanks, David.
Dear Brad: Thank you so much for the link to the video about the fire in 1971 in which Donald Hyde was killed that was filmed last summer. We never had the whole picture although I think my uncle, Donald's father, may have. For a couple of days, it was almost all I could think about. Also thank you for the newspaper article. My nephew spent a lot of time looking for it when he first became a firefighter and never found it, so we're glad to have it now. I'll retrieve any nice pictures we have of Donald next time I'm in California, which will be by June, if not before. Thanks again. Elizabeth Samuels
Thanks for the links to the pictures of the memorial. If you would like a framed high school graduation picture of Donald I think I could get one. Just let me know where to send it. Glad you appreciated the pictures. These are just the ones from our family's perspective. He was very involved in 4-H and football in Middletown and there are probably lots of pictures somewhere of that. He was a refreshing presence for us city folk. Thanks!
Brad: Thanks for your quick response. I will send you pictures of Donald from different stages of his life. Both of his parents have died and the rest of the family only recently found out about the memorial. You'd probably be interested that my sister has a son who is a firefighter in Palo Alto, CA, whose name is Michael Espeland. Thanks again. It will probably be sometime soon after Christmas that I send the pictures.
Brad:
Thank you.
I have been a fan of the magazine and the many people associated with it since 1980.
I think our department got its first subscription in 1988; the year I became chief. The trustees always thought that it was too "cashy", so some of us "pooled" our money and started getting it at the station. By the time it was done getting passed around between us, the cover was worn and it was missing pages.
I am humble to be a small part of the dot com edition.
Thanks again.

Thanks, I'm not to tech savy & figured it was just a screen name since most security folks say avoid real names, but as soon as I figure out this thing, I'll fix. Thanks for the heads up
Brad,
Did you ever know Jimmy Hammiester at Clear AFS? He was an A/C for a while there years ago. My only time in Alaska was a few years ago at a safety conference in the capital. I had a hard time reading some of your page with the red type on the pictures. Take care. Ray Porter

Brad,
Thanks for the warm welcome. I don't believe I've ever met John Heller. Any relation to Dan Hoff? We've worked together on some MAYDAY training.
