Bio:
Michael D. Wilson, CFEI MDI, a veteran of the Warsaw – Wayne Fire Territory, has combined over 38 years of public service in the area of fire and crime scene investigations. Michael was appointed Fire Chief of the Warsaw - Wayne Fire Territory Spet 1, 2015. Michael is the past elected Coroner of Kosciusko County, overseeing death scene investigations with 21 years of experience as Investigator. He is currently the retired Fire Marshal and ATF Acelerant Detection K-9 Handler for the City of Warsaw Fire Department (IN) / Warsaw – Wayne Fire Territory; past Fire Chief of Plain Township Fire Department in Leesburg, IN. Michael and wife Tracy continues to be involved in K-9 work, currently supports the Therapy K-9 Program with Maverick, a GSD used in the court-house with juveniles, and handler for Bailey, a ATF ACD Certified Labrador used in Indiana for fire scene investigation. Michael continues to be involved in extensive investigation of residential and commercial structure fires as member of the Fire Investigation Team of Kosciusko County since 1980. He has advanced education in specialized fields of fire / crime scene investigations, death scene investigations, and commercial building inspections, and Critical Incident Stress Debriefing. Certifications: Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator via NAFI, Certified Accelerant Detection Canine Handle ATF, Medicolegal Death Investigator, Fire Inspector I & II, Fire / Arson Investigations Masters, NFPA Fire Investigator I, First and Second Class Firefighter, Hazard Materials Response, and Rescue Operations, and Counselor with McHatton – Sadler Funeral Chapel
