My name is Nathan Edwards. I am a press photographer for the Daily Telegraph newspaper in Sydney, Australia www.dailytelegraph.com.au. In 2001 I was on secondment to the New York Post and covered the WTC attacks.
To mark the 10 year anniversary, the Daily Telegraph would like me to return to New York to make contact with people featured in my September 11 photographs to do a ‘ten years on’ photo feature based on the health and wellbeing of these firefighters.
I have attached an album of photographs , it includes pictures of FDNY Firefighters moments after the dust had cleared from the collapse of the second tower. I am hoping for a little help. Would you mind please looking at the photos to see if you, or some of your colleagues might recognise the officers? It would be much appreciated, if you do know or recognise anyone from the photos, you could put me in touch with them.
Also included album is a photograph of a picture I found lying in the dust at the WTC. I have no idea if it’s a worker from one of the towers with her child, or the partner and baby of someone who worked there and it has haunted me since finding it. I am asking everyone I email to show the pic to as many people as possible in the hope that someone recognises the woman and baby.
Any help from you might be able to give would be greatly appreciated. As you could imagine its proving difficult to track down firefighters from the other side of the world with only helmet numbers to go on. Thank you for your time and looking forward to hearing from you
Sincerely
Nathan
