Share 'Emotional Intelligence and Mental Markers'

I am doing some research on the above and I would like to hear from anyone who has experience with either Emotional Intelligence training or developing training geared towards creating measurable mental markers. Our city did some EI training and I believe it has real value for fire service decision making and risk management.
