    Bob,

I feel that this is a great platform to share your thoughts and ideas.  Peter picks many of them up and shares on the main page and social media.  When he does this, your thought and message reach a lot of people.

Thanks for the responses. A little background on me. 26 years as a career firefighter. My first 12 on a small department in NW Indiana (less than 60 personnel). Currently a Captain on a busy engine company (4,000 runs/yr) in St. Louis, MO. Plus a number of years as a volunteer in a suburban and a very rural department.

I have had a project I have had sitting on a shelf that I finally have the time to move forward on and would appreciate input from anyone. I am working on a presentation I have titled "Big City Tactics for Small Town Fire Departments."

The premise is many small paid/career departs in one way or another want to emulate their big city counter parts (FDNY, Chicago, Boston, etc.) As we all know, big cities have one thong in abundance that their little brothers do not have. RESOURCES. Ie apparatus, staffing, budget, etc.

Those departments may not be able to copy exactly the way the FDNY, StLFD, etc operate, but they certainly can steal ideas and adapt them in a way that would work for them.

So my question for you all....

If you were to sit in on a class/presentation like this what would be the main topics you would like to see covered?

Bob, thanks for writing. Not as many folks on here as there used to be, but as Adam pointed out we do look for new contributors all the time. If you'd like to reach out, you can find my e-mail right on this page.

I'll let the proper firefighters respond regarding your subject matter, however it sounds like a subject that would generate some interest.
