Where firefighters come to talk training

My department is in Washington state and we are looking at bringing in an outside instructor for leadership training. I have contacted Chief Buchanan who did the Leading with Attitude class at FDIC and will probably be bringing him "way out west". Does anyone know of a any other good leadership instructors and if so, how to get in touch with them. Thanks for the help on this one.

I agree with Shawn, both Chief Salka and Chief Laskey are excellent choices. Chief Laskey has a DVD through Fire Engineering that you might want to see. We use it in our officer development program but all ranks will benefit. We have also brought Dennis Compton into our department on two occasions and found him to be quite good as well.

I would recommend John Salka and Bobby Halton both are great speakers.
All of the above are great. I would also recommend Eddy Enright and "Mac" McCastland out of the Illinois Fire Service Institute. Their presentation on Duty, Pride and Tradition is not to be missed. Additionally, the Illinois Fire Service Institute includes Leadership I and II in their Fire Officer I and Leadership III and IV in their Fire Officer II programs. Each of the Leadership courses (I, II, III and IV) are 40 classes. I can provide aditional details on all of the above if you wish.
Rick Lasky.

Need I say more?
Eddie does a wonderful class and you will defiantly benefit from it. Chase Sargent has a Buddy to Boss program that he has been doing for quite a few years and Tim Sindelbach has a lecture called Upsetting the Status Quo. They are both real good programs.
